What to Expect

Getting Started

When you call Woodbridge Spine & Sport Rehabilitation to schedule your appointment, you can provide us with your health insurance information over the phone so that we can verify your coverage. You’ll also want to print and complete your new patient intake forms (available in the box at right), so you can bring them in with you to your first appointment.

Your First Visit

During your first visit, you’ll receive your initial examination and consultation with your chiropractor. This will consist of orthopedic exam, neurologic exam, chiropractic exam, gait analysis and X-rays if necessary.

It’s important that the area of complaint be exposed. If your shoulder hurts, bring or wear a tank top for your appointment. If it’s your knee, make sure to have some shorts. If you’re coming directly from work, we have some medical gowns available for your convenience.

Is your situation urgent? Are you suffering and in a lot of pain? When you arrive for your appointment, we’ll treat you on the first day to help relieve some of the pain. However, in most cases we schedule a follow-up appointment for your first treatment.

Your first visit usually lasts about an hour.

Your Second Visit

On your second visit, your doctor will give you his report of findings. We’ll share what we’ve learned from your initial exam, review X-rays, explain the diagnosis to you and discuss treatment options.

If you agree and are ready to feel better, we’ll begin your treatment. The second visit also takes about an hour.

Regular and Follow Up Visits

Regular visits usually last about half an hour, but can range from 15 to 60 minutes depending on your treatment plan.

Occasionally your doctor can give you a prognosis for how many visits your treatment will require, but more often than not that is decided from visit to visit.
